Today is Sunday, Dec 23, the second day of this year's Christmas vacation.
Vacations always make people lazy. I woke up at 8:30 today instead of 6:50. I got a challenge when I first wake up—wake up. I think that’s the only challenge that you will have it every single day, also the hardiest challenge in our lives.
After I faced and solved that challenge, there was another challenge—get out of the bed, specifically during the winter. Warm and comfortable blanket vs. super cold outside, I bet you’d like to stay in the blanket. But the most time your mom won’t you to stay. “Hurry! Get up! Look at the time!” If she said so, then I have to follow it.
Vacation already started, and life still looks so boring. No wonder that I am not excited, I am actually a little sad. The reason why was because I can’t go back to China this Xmas. Last year, I had a good Xmas vacation; I went back to China and played with my old friends. This year, I have to stay in America. The first reason was because my just had a major surgery and take a long time airplane travel is not a really good idea for her to recover; and also because the airplane tickets were super expensive during this time. Three days ago, one of my Chinese friends sent me a message asked me when I will go back to China, which made me even sadder. But fortunately, we got a new American friend called Sam, who just moved to California from Arizona for 8 months, he’s now also my tutor, and we are going to spend our Xmas holiday with him this year.
Tonight, he brought us to home depot, we had a dinner at a Japanese restaurant called Tokyo Wako, and we also watched Xmas lights on the street. Xmas lights were really nice, I may not see it during my whole life if I went back to China every Xmas. But in fact, I rather like go back to China than watch Xmas lights.
Tomorrow, Sam will come and make beef and shrimp for us, hope we can have a nice Xmas eve.
